Infection Prevention
Routine Practices and Additional Precautions must be practiced in all settings where health care is provided. Ensuring the safety and health of our staff, patients and visitors is of utmost importance to us. We are dedicated to fostering a safe and comfortable environment which is why we have instituted comprehensive measures within our clinics.
Health and Safety
We have an onsite health and safety committee. The committee convenes regularly to uphold the safety of our patients and staff. We thoroughly assess all aspects of our Infection Control program and strive for ongoing enhancement.
Education
All of our staff and volunteers undergo mandatory infection control sessions through Public Health.
Patient Screening
As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our staff, patients and visitors, we politely request that all patients conduct a self-assessment before their appointment. If a patient exhibits symptoms upon arrival, they will be requested to wear a mask throughout their appointment or consider rescheduling.
Masking
We advise wearing masks in our clinics, yet in line with the guidelines of Public Health Ontario and the Ministry of Health, patients are no longer obligated to do so in healthcare settings.
Hand Hygiene
We kindly request that patients, visitors, and staff sanitize their hands upon arrival at the sanitizing stations positioned at the entrance to our facilities. Additionally, we request that you uphold proper hand hygiene throughout your time at our facility.
Physical Distancing:
Our facilities offer ample space, enabling patients and staff to maintain safe physical distances while onsite. At Midland-Ellesmere X-ray and Ultrasound, we offer four dedicated waiting rooms to ensure that patients can safely maintain social distance.
Cleaning and Disinfection in Our Clinic
Ensuring spaces are clean and free from viruses is our top priority. Alongside nightly cleaning by a specialized cleaning company that specializes in healthcare, our office undergoes continuous cleaning by our staff throughout our regular operating hours.
We regularly clean all touch surfaces, including counters, doorknobs, waiting room chairs, and other frequently touched areas. Our technologist staff perform a high level disinfection of the exam room between each patient. We have made investments in specialized cleaning equipment dedicated to disinfecting all rooms within the clinic.
